Stability :
Methylene chloride can be used in presence of air, water , light, and any of the common construction material at temperature up to 60 deg. C. Small quantities of dissolved water do not appreciably affect its stability below 100 deg C.
Uses :
It finds use in metal cleaning, decaling, bleaching, hydrolyzing agent and industrial solvent for inorganic compounds.

Aerosol propellant, refrigerant, low temperature heat-transfer medium.
Solvent for cellulose acetates in photographic film and rayon yarn manufacture .
Grease removing agent for machinery, tools and raw wool.
Extractant for naturally occurring heat sensitive substance, such as edible fats, cocoa, butter and essences.
