  It has tendency to absorb moisture and on absorbing moisture, it undergoes hydrolysis, liberating free acid.

APPLICATIONS
 

Ethylating Agent
 

As a very versatile and safe ethylating agent in the manufacture of aromatic and aliphatic ethers, amines, amides, esters and imides for dyestuff, starch and sugar, pharmaceutical and flavour synthesis

 

Dyes & Dye Intermediates
  For manufacturing of Dyes and Dye Intermediates like Diethyl Meta Amino Phenol (DEMAP), Pigment of violet-23 etc.
  Leather
  As a fat liquoring composition
  Pharmaceuticals
  For manufacturing bulk drugs like Norfloxacin, Nalidixic acid, Barbituric acid etc.
  Textile Softeners
  For manufacturing cationic and anionic softeners and quaternary textile finishing compounds
  Insecticides
  As a stabilizer in the manufacturing of organophosphorous insecticides
  Resin
  As a hardener for cresol formaldehyde resin
  Mutagenic Agent
  As an extremely good mutagenic agent for rosophila mutation, euglena, gracilis mutation, neurospora grass mutation, corn, barley and wheat mutation
  OTHER USES
  In the manufacturing of anti-corrosion agents, color-fixing agents, pyrimidine derivatives for explosives and in fiber finish.

Toxic by ingestion & inhalation and strong irritant

Avoid skin & eye contact. In case of contact wash with plenty of water.

Store the material in MS tank with PP lining or HM HDPE drums
